I will overwhelm 'serious boxer' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-round match which will be broadcast live on the streaming platform.

British boxer Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "break" his opponent as the combatants came face-to-face to promote the upcoming boxing match.

Ex two-time world title holder Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge mismatch - at Miami's arena on 19 December.

Fighter's Mindset

"I'm going to damage his features and break his body up. I'm here to prove I'm superior," Joshua, 35 years old, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I'm going to genuinely try to injure him. That's my goal."

Respectful Exchange

Despite such comments, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - typically famous for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul instead criticized ex Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "ridiculous" after Ngannou turned down a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at UK opponent Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul is better than Fury - he showed up," Joshua commented.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Fighter

Despite saying he intends to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he said.

Jake Paul's Background

Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has primarily boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.

He lost to Briton Fury in last year.

Financial Success

Still, the novice remains one of the sport's biggest commercial attractions, consistently making massive earnings.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28 year old predicted a knockout win in rounds four or five and stated he would prevent the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly under discussion for two years from now.

"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul declared.

Size Difference

As Joshua and Paul met for the traditional confrontation, with their height and weight contrast evident, it drove home just how surprising this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is really proceeding.
